Four weeks after the Spine Race and time to test my knee out over more ambitious terrain. So far it has been two weeks of rest, two weeks of occasional cycling and a 10-mile trot around the Staines’ reservoirs last Sunday. Today’s route was one my all-time favourites – train to Chirk, along the canal and follow Offa’s Dyke Path below the limestone crags above Llangollen, through World’s End and into Llandegla Forest, stop at the café, then Minera Lead Mines and Clwyedog Valley Trail to Wrexham and the train home. 24 miles, 2800ft. Knee was fine, though a little stiff after the cafe stop – I think it thought I had finished!
